“Peace and Slow Project” is a nongovermental organization, aimed at making changes in tourism industry more fair and ethical.
We support local communities in solving their problems such as enviromental issues, poverty, insufficient opportunities in education and conflicts etc.,
through sustainable tourism involving local people.
We are producing tourism program for all the people who concern and learn about “peace” and “Slow” to make our lives more rich in mind and happy.
Our mission
1, Spread the idea of “sustainable tourism” as a measure for sustainable development.
In Japan, although “ecotourism” is more focused in these days, “sustainable tourism”, as a more holistic idea, is rarely mentioned.
We are eager to diffuse our thought that not only “ecology” is the only concern for tourism, but also “fair” and “peace” for local communities should be concerned as well, in tourism.
2, Empower women, minorities by sustainable tourism.
3, Make policy proposals to consider local culture, history and environment in tourism industry.
4, Distribute information on issues concerned environment, poverty, education and peace throuth sustainable tourism.
